The Marble: The Roar Part 2

I laid there in the wet green grass for quite a while.  As the day passed the sun dried out the grass and then it warmed me up and for a while I thought things might turn out fine.  After all what kind of life is it for a marble to sit on the floor of a closet?  It had been a very boring existence, ever day like the last with only the ticktock of the grandfather clock in the hall to keep me company.  Yes I could see glimpses of the world when the closet door was left open.  The bedroom television was turned on and I saw what a real life was like.  Maybe was my favorite show, I longed for Opie to adopt me and take me to Mayberry.  Opie would play with me and maybe put me in his pocket.  Then the day my life changed.  Granted my flight out the window was the first time I had taken to the air and the landing was a bit rough but all in all the day wasn't too bad.   I was not prepared for what would come next.   It was late in the afternoon when the sun was going down that I heard a noise in the distance.  I knew what cars sounded like because the roar came by the window and soon passed.  Weekly I would hear this terrible sounding roar outside that seemed to linger for a while. I was never really sure what it was that caused such a commotion but I felt safe in my closet.  I had heard a lion roar once when my closet door was left open and I knew it was not a lion.  What could the noise be? It was too close to be an airplane. Could it be a lion, no I decided because why would a lion be in our front yard.  I knew lions lived in the zoo.  Soon the roar got closer to me, and wind began to blow the grass across my face and I was getting a little unnerved.  Then it faded away only to return a few minutes later and this time it was closer to me. The third time it approached it came right toward me and I got a good look at it.  It had shiny sharp blades that were going round and round.  These blades were huge and it was moving very fast.  I suddenly realized what it was.....it was a lawnmower and it was headed right towards me.  This looked nothing like the bright red plastic mower my boy played with when he was young.  I knew I was in BIG TROUBLE!!!!!
